THE BREAKDOWN: Thursday (12/18/2025) Rain and Wind; What to Expect

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) –
Rain and wind will make for a wet day across the Mid-South Thursday.
A cold front brings a line of showers and storms through around midday Thursday, when rain is expected to be most widespread. Some lingering showers Thursday evening push out as the night goes on, bringing in colder and drier weather for Friday.
While a spotty shower is possible early Thursday morning, rain will be steadiest around the midday lunch and early afternoon.
Breezy conditions are expected throughout the day Thursday, with winds gusting upwards of 30 to possibly even 40 mph as the showers and storms roll through.
Thursday sees highs reach the 60s, but after the cold front moves through, lows drop into the 30s by early Friday morning. Friday afternoon highs only reach the 40s, but there will be much more sunshine.
The severe weather risk remains low, but some gusty winds are possible in storms that do organize, so make sure to have the First Alert Weather App downloaded for any alerts that may be issued.
