Koraidon ex, Azumarill ex, Groudon, and More from Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes

The upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes, welcomes over 290 cards to the fray, including plenty of Pokémon that are eager to show off their biggest, boldest attacks. The expansion arrives on January 30, 2026, and today, we’re checking out five cards you should keep an eye out for, including a Tera Pokémon ex, a Team Rocket’s Pokémon, a Stadium card, and more.
In this artwork, the Terastallized Koraidon appears to be reaching right out of the frame of the card itself, with bright red gems flying across and toward you! Koraidon ex’s Orichalcum Fang attack does more damage if any of your Pokémon were Knocked Out by damage from an attack during your opponent’s last turn—making this powered-up counterattack whack opponents for a total of 170 damage instead of its usual 50. Impact Blow is even more powerful: for , it does 200 damage, but during your next turn, Koraidon ex won’t be able to use Impact Blow again.

Next up is a Stadium card that stalls Tera Pokémon like Koraidon ex by making their attacks cost more. Nighttime Mine’s effect applies to all Tera Pokémon in play, so if you’ve got Tera Pokémon of your own when you play this Stadium, make sure you have a plan to avoid falling victim to your own strategy. The illustration shows us the entryway to the mine at night (of course), appearing quite serene in contrast to the controlling effect the Stadium applies.
Exeggutor is taking a brief respite from the important work of being one of Team Rocket’s faithful Pokémon in its illustration by Ryuta Fuse, lit by the dim glow of the display panel at its side. Team Rocket’s Exeggutor has a high-risk, high-reward attack in Tri Kinesis. For just , you flip three coins, and if all of them are heads, this attack Knocks Out one of your opponent’s Pokémon. If you’re feeling less lucky, you can opt to use Double-Edge for , which does 150 damage to your opponent’s Pokémon. Team Rocket’s Exeggutor will do 30 damage to itself when it uses Double-Edge, so keep that in mind if you choose to strategize with the Coconut Pokémon.
Groudon also has an attack that does 150 damage to opposing Pokémon and 30 damage to itself—Megaton Fall. Its other attack, Hammer In, does 80 damage and costs a more modest . In this artwork by Kazumasa Yasukuni, Groudon stands its ground as lava flows behind it and erupts from the earth at its feet. With its fangs bared in a mighty roar, this Pokémon has us feeling fired up for battle!
Bursting through its frame in this illustration by 5ban Graphics, Azumarill ex enters the battlefield ready to gather up all the Energy it can! With its Bubble Gathering Ability, you can move an Energy from one of your other Pokémon to Azumarill ex as often as you like during your turn. As long as it has attached, it can use Energized Balloon to do 60 damage. For every Energy attached to Azumarill ex, Energized Balloon will do 40 additional damage—so if you attach to satisfy this Energy cost, you’ll do 180 damage instead, with the potential for more if there’s more Energy for Azumarill ex to gather.
This is only the start of what will be unveiled as we approach the launch of Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes on January 30, 2026. Get ready to marvel at even more awesome potential for yourself when the expansion arrives!
