8 hospitalized after tractor trailer rear-ends NJ Transit bus

Eight people were hospitalized after a tractor trailer rear-ended a New Jersey Transit bus Tuesday afternoon in Essex County, officials said.
The bus was on its way to the Jersey Gardens Mall when it was hit by a tractor trailer at the intersection of Marlin Street and Port Street in Newark around 3 p.m., officials said.
Port Authority police responded to the incident and seven passengers and the bus driver were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The driver of the tractor trailer refused medical attention, according to officials.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
