1 dead, 1 critical after multi-vehicle crash on 210 Freeway in Glendale area; all lanes reopened

GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) — One person was killed and another person was injured Saturday in a multi-vehicle crash on the 210 Freeway in the Glendale area.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 1:21 a.m. Saturday to the eastbound side of the freeway at Lowell Avenue, near the city limits where Glendale borders Sunland-Tujunga. Officers found several other vehicles and a Nissan Pathfinder on its side, said Officer Elizabeth Kravig, a CHP spokeswoman.
Firefighter-paramedics from the Glendale Fire Department responded to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.
The victim’s name, age or gender were not immediately known.
The CHP said paramedics rushed at least one person to a hospital in critical condition.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the westbound freeway at Lowell Avenue while they investigated the cause of the crash. All lanes were reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
