‘SNL’ To Return In January With Finn Wolfhard & A$AP Rocky

Finn Wolfhard will bring Saturday Night Live into 2026 with a little help from A$AP Rocky.

The Stranger Things star will host the NBC show on January 17 – its first show after the Christmas break.

The news was announced during SNL’s Christmas show, hosted by Ariana Grande with musical guest Cher.

Wolfhard will be making his hosting debut, while A$AP Rocky is making his debut as a musical performer, having previously appeared in a cameo in 2018 when Donald Glover hosted.

Wolfhard has history with the institution; he starred in Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night movie as an NBC page. That film told the story of the first night of the long-running show on October 11, 1975.

While promoting Saturday Night, Wolfhard said that he’d love to recreate the Underground Rock Festival sketch, which starred Jason Sudekis and Nasim Pedrad.

“They were hosts of this terrible metal festival, and they would do themed commercials announcing the lineup,” Wolfhard told People. “I was watching that recently and I thought it was so funny because it’s just an excuse to basically name a bunch of random bands. I think that sketch would be really funny to bring back.”

He is coming off the back of wrapping Stranger Things, which airs its final episode on New Year’s Eve.
