Theresa Ann Reuter, age 90, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025 at All Saints Catholic Parish-St. Joseph Church in Le Mars, IA with Rev. Doug Klein officiating and Rev. Bruce Lawler concelebrating. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery in Oyens, IA. Visitation with family present will be Monday from 4 – 6:30 p.m. with vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. Visitation will resume from 10 – 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the church in Le Mars. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral home & Monument in Remsen, IA. www.fischfh.com. Theresa was born Oct. 15, 1935 in Remsen, Iowa, the daughter of Aloysius & Josephine (Stodden) Vaske. She was raised near Remsen and attended St. Mary’s Schools, graduating in 1953. She then attended college at Briar Cliff in Sioux City, IA where she obtained her teaching degree. She then taught school at Gehlen Catholic in Le Mars.
On Nov. 30, 1957 she married Robert Reuter at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA. The couple made their home in Le Mars. They then moved to a farm near Oyens where they began farming in 1961. They lived there until retiring in Le Mars in 1998. Bob passed away Nov. 1, 2010.
Theresa was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish-St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to KLEM radio station, sudoku books and going on walks. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday party in October with her family, whom she loved spending time with.
Survivors include her six children, Julie (Kevin) McKinney of Storm Lake, IA, Vicky (Bob) Heidesch of Remsen, IA, Cindy (Dale) Hansen of Alton, IA, Jerry (Kate) Reuter of LeMars, IA, Karen (Chris) Fullinfaw of Omaha, NE, Keith (Tabitha) Reuter of Omaha, NE; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marian Holzman of Alton, IA, Alvira Schwarz of Marcus, IA, Sr. Rosemary Vaske of Dubuque, IA; in-laws, Cathy (Keith) Popp, Terry Reuter, Steve (Elizabeth) Reuter, Alice (Glenn) Ruhland, Ruth Padgett, Dave (Sandy) Reuter, Doug (Monica) Reuter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob; son, Timothy; grandsons, Caleb Fullinfaw, Adam Fullinfaw & Keaton Reuter; her siblings, Walter & Vincent in infancy, Lucille (Victor) Zenk, Sr. Florence Vaske, Rita (Darrell) Williams, Sr. Phyllis Vaske, Loretta Vaske, Aloysius (Susie) Vaske; parents-in-law, Roger “Hap” (Dorothy) Reuter; step-mother-in-law, Ione Reuter; in-laws, Gordon Holzman, Marvin Schwarz, Ron & Meredith Reuter, Jim & Claire Reuter, Janeen Reuter.
Casket bearers will be her grandsons.
