Jacksonville native, ‘Big Brother’ contestant in ICU after ‘series of cardiac arrests’

A “Big Brother” contestant and Jacksonville native was hospitalized after a series of cardiac arrests, according to a GoFundMe.
Mickey Lee was a houseguest on Season 27 of “Big Brother,” a popular reality competition show on CBS.
The GoFundMe described Lee as “a vibrant, strategic, and unforgettable personality” who brought “charm and fierce competition to the Big Brother house as an event curator and creative force.”
“Today, we’re coming together with heavy hearts to ask for your support,” the GoFundMe read.
Mickey recently experienced multiple cardiac arrests following flu complications that landed her in the ICU. She was in critical yet stable condition while being closely cared for by medical staff and supported by loved ones. But the recovery journey ahead would be long and difficult, according to the GoFundMe.
As of Monday, a little over $13,000 was raised toward the $22,000 goal, which would cover medical expenses, rehabilitation and other related costs.
“Mickey has touched so many lives through her courage, bold personality, and unforgettable presence on Big Brother. Let’s show her the same love and support now when she needs it most,” the GoFundMe said.
Though Lee was from Jacksonville, she was living in Atlanta, Georgia.
