See All Best Photos of the Royal Family on Christmas

Each December, the British royal family gathers at Sandringham for Christmas. Led by King Charles and Queen Camilla, they walk to services at the Church of St Mary Magdalene and greet the members of the public who come out to wish them a Merry Christmas.
Today, the King and Queen were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Charles’s siblings Princess Anne and Prince Edward, and Princess Margaret’s children and grandchildren. After church, the royals typically gather for a Christmas lunch; they open presents on Christmas Eve, a nod to their German heritage.
Notable absences today include Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who will move to Sandringham in the new year, and Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children. The Sussexes last celebrated Christmas with the royals in 2018. “I remember so vividly the first Christmas at Sandringham,” Meghan said of Christmas 2017 in her and Harry’s Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan. “Calling my mom, and she’s like, ‘How’s it going?’ And I said, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s amazing.’ It’s just like a big family, like I always wanted. There was just this constant movement and energy and fun.” Now, of course, they spend the holiday in the U.S.
