Fowlerville homeowner reportedly shoots, kills armed intruder

A homeowner on Nicholson Road in Fowlerville shot and killed an intruder on Christmas after the latter fired multiple shots and struck him twice, according to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO deputies responded around 7:09 p.m. to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found the reportedly armed intruder suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and the injured homeowner. The homeowner was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The alleged intruder was pronounced dead on scene.
According to preliminary investigation, the intruder was the estranged husband of a female acquaintance who was visiting the homeowner at the time of the incident. He reportedly entered the residence and fired multiple shots at the homeowner, striking him twice. The homeowner returned fire, ultimately striking and killing the shooter.
The intruder, police said, traveled to Fowlerville from the Lake Orion area. The incident remains under investigation.
