FORECAST FIRST ALERT: Impactful snowfall expected Sunday

Minnesota’s Weather Authority has issued a Forecast First ALERT as a significant winter storm aims to impact Minnesota and Wisconsin Sunday. That day will begin mild with temperatures in the low 30s, with rain and a wintry mix at the onset of precipitation just after sunrise. As an arctic front arrives from the northwest, temperatures quickly plummet into the teens and 20s with steady to at times heavy snow developing. This, combined with winds gusting upwards of 40 MPH, will create for hazardous road conditions and limited visibility.
By the time the snow wraps up early Monday morning, several inches of accumulation are likely, especially along and east of the I-35 corridor.
This is shaping up to be a high-impact weather event. As always, stay tuned to Minnesota’s Weather Authority for changing conditions as our next snowfall arrives.
