Packers DL Warren Brinson, WR Jayden Reed both fined for Week 16 actions

Green Bay Packers rookie defensive lineman Warren Brinson and receiver Jayden Reed were both fined by the NFL for actions during Green Bay’s Week 16 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Brinson was fined $4,981 for unnecessary roughness after he pulled quarterback Caleb Williams down by the facemask in the fourth quarter. The 15-yard penalty negated a sack and gave the Bears — who were facing 3rd-and-20 — a first down.

Reed was fined $10,880 for unsportsmanlike conduct after he was flagged for taunting following Romeo Doubs’ 33-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter. The 15-yard penalty turned the Packers’ extra point attempt into a 48-yarder, but Brandon McManus converted the kick.

Here is video of Reed’s taunting penalty:

Brinson and Reed are the first Packers players to be fined under the gameday accountability umbrella since defensive tackle Colby Wooden in Week 11.

Bears defensive end Austin Booker was fined twice by the NFL for roughing the passer penalties against Packers quarterback Jordan Love in Week 16: the first for using body weight and the second for a blow to the head/neck area. The second gave Love a concussion. The fines total over $11,000.
