Talking points

Chapter three
The new book, that is the renewed rivalry of Adelaide and Perth, will write its third chapter on Sunday.

The first two instalments have produced highlights for many reasons, but neither of them have seen the Bryce Cotton masterclass that fans have come to know and love.

Could this be the first time that we see the five-time MVP put up 50 points on his former team?

Doolittle the key
If the Wildcats learnt anything from their big win over Tasmania, it’s that Kristian Doolittle might be the key to them reaching their true potential.

The superstar forward was in attack mode and virtually unstoppable on his way to a 30-point game.

While this team has some questions around their form and finding consistency, if they get that production out of Doolittle, then it could help them climb the ladder.

What they’re saying

Adelaide coach Mike Wells on the success of his side to date:
“We’ve got 16 wins before Christmas.

“I think that’s a hell of an accomplishment in a really hard playing, tough league.

“I mean, [I’m] just super-excited about this last third of the year and where this group is.”

Wildcats coach John Rillie on his side’s road challenge:
“We’re on the road for four games, so it’s a good opportunity for us to keep building, stay connected and keep improving for the full 40 minutes against Adelaide.

“We’ve shown we’re a good basketball team for 30-plus minutes, but it’s those three to five-minute patches that really matter.”
