‘Big Brother’ star Mickey Lee dies at 35

A contestant in the latest season of “Big Brother” died on Christmas Day after a series of cardiac arrests, according to her family.
Mickey Lee died on Thursday following an extended hospital stay resulting from flu complications. She was 35.
Lee’s family, in a statement on Instagram, said she “captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,” the statement reads.
“She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”
Lee, living in Atlanta, was in critical but stable condition earlier this week, according to a GoFundMe page created for her medical expenses not covered by insurance. Contributions on Friday afternoon totaled nearly $35,000.
According to Deadline, Lee was a cast member on Season 27 of “Big Brother,” which ran from July to September of this year.
She was voted out by her co-competitors during the eighth week of the season.
Co-star Clifton “Will” Williams, in a statement, said, “This is absolutely horrible. Life is so short. Mickey was an incredible spirit and a joy in the house. Prayers to her family. The big brother family will miss her dearly.”
