Florida Times-Union Jacksonville Jaguars reporter Demetrius Harvey gives the team’s keys to victory against the Colts in Week 17.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., injured his left foot or ankle late in the second quarter during the Jags’ game against the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 27 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Thomas, who has battled ankle injuries this season, went on a deep out pattern against Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner, with the pass from Trevor Lawrence falling incomplete.
As Gardner broke up the pass and the two fell to the ground, it appeared that Thomas’ left foot got twisted. He was immediately attended to by trainers and limped off the field.
Thomas was seen standing on the sideline and testing his ankle by jumping up and down. He did not return for the remainder of the possession, which ended with a Jaguars punt. He was able to return for the Jaguars’ final possession of the first half and caught one pass for 7 yards.
Before the injury, Thomas had caught two passes for 15 yards.
The Jaguars trailed 10-7 at the time of his injury, which came with 3:08 left in the quarter.
