Raptors’ Scottie Barnes Joins Historic NBA Triple-Double Club With 25 Rebounds

Scottie Barnes had a Sunday to remember, and he made some NBA history in the process.

The Toronto Raptors forward led his team to a 141-127 overtime victory over the Golden State Warriors behind an incredible triple-double of 23 points, 25 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and one block on 11-of-17 shooting from the field.

According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Barnes became just the ninth player in league history to post a 23-point, 25-rebound and 10-assist game.

Here is a list of the players who have accomplished the feat:

That is excellent company for the Florida State product, who entered play averaging 19.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.3 steals a night this season. His ability to impact the game a number of ways is one reason the Raptors are in early playoff position at 19-14 on the campaign.

A 39-point outburst from Stephen Curry wasn’t enough for the Warriors, who fell to 16-16 in what has been an inconsistent start to the season.

Fittingly, it was Barnes’ tip shot in the final 30 seconds that tied the game and forced the additional period. Toronto then dominated overtime with the defense setting the tone and holding the Warriors to just five points after regulation.

Barnes and the Raptors will look to keep the momentum rolling when they host the Orlando Magic in the second half of a back-to-back on Monday.
