Quebecers will be able to welcome the new year using the REM’s light-rail service, which will operate throughout the night of Dec. 31 to Jan. 1.

Overnight service will be offered across the entire network, between Brossard and Deux-Montagnes.

Although the REM will be running at exceptional hours, regular fares will remain in effect.

This overnight service comes shortly after a planned weekend shutdown of the network.

The REM will not operate on Dec. 27 and 28 due to technical testing ahead of the opening of the Anse-à-l’Orme branch, scheduled for spring 2026.

The Deux-Montagnes branch, the most recent addition to the network, was inaugurated in November.

For details on alternative transportation options during the shutdown, customers are encouraged to consult the REM website.
