Three Mass. residents arrested after allegedly robbing a man at R.I. casino

PROVIDENCE — Three people from Massachusetts were arrested after a man was allegedly threatened with a knife and robbed inside a hotel room at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort in Rhode Island on Monday, according to authorities.
Lincoln police responded to a reported robbery at the resort around 1:43 a.m., and through an investigation determined two teenage women “conspired to lure a male victim from the casino floor to a hotel room,” officials said in a statement.
“Once inside the room, the victim was confronted by a male suspect who threatened him with a knife and robbed him of over $1,500 in cash,” police said.
According to authorities, Naushka A. Machuca, 19, of Marlborough, Mass., and Tashawana Tuckta, 19, of Boston, enticed the victim to the hotel room.
“Once inside, 28-year-old Dominyck S. Sims, from Worcester, [Mass.], confronted the victim, threatened him with a knife, and took the cash,” authorities said. “After the incident, the victim was allowed to leave and was instructed not to contact authorities.”

All three were apprehended following the investigation and charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy, according to police.
Machuca and Sims were also charged with disorderly conduct, and Sims faces an additional weapons-related charge, authorities said.
All three were arraigned Monday in Kent County District Court in Warwick, R.I., court records show. No pleas were entered, as is typical for felony cases in Rhode Island.
All three were ordered held without bail, records show.
“The Lincoln Police Department encourages the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution when interacting with unfamiliar individuals,” police said.
