“I’ve never seen someone so prepared”: LeBron James turns 41 as Lakers teammates reflect on his longevity

Ayton added that James’ approach continues to resonate throughout the Lakers locker room, with his routine setting a benchmark for teammates.
“It’s contagious,” Ayton said. “Just seeing him in his 23rd year, how many reps he puts in, how early he gets to the gym — it just amazes you. Of course you want to put some of this stuff in your bag as well.”
Center Jaxson Hayes echoed those sentiments, pointing to preparation as the defining factor behind James’ sustained impact.
“Definitely his preparation,” Hayes said. “I’ve never seen someone so prepared. He has his whole schedule lined up, he sticks to it every day. He’s the first one in the gym every day, and that’s just a testament to him and how great of a player he is.”
On the court, James has continued to contribute across the board, averaging 20.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game this season.
The Lakers enter Monday’s matchup against the Pistons with a 20–10 record, sitting 5th in the Western Conference standings with the February All-Star break fast approaching.
