Algeria
Equatorial Guinea vs Algeria
Africa Cup of Nations, 4pm Wednesday
Algeria have clinched top spot in Africa Cup of Nations Group E with a game to spare and they can maintain their 100 per cent record by defeating eliminated Equatorial Guinea in Rabat.
It seems likely that Algeria the head coach Vladimir Petkovic will make plenty of changes, but his fringe players will be eager to boost their chances of playing in the knockout rounds.
There is plenty of depth to the Algeria squad and their bench for Sunday’s 1-0 success over Burkina Faso included Feyenoord winger Anis Hadji Moussa, who has scored five goals in 15 league appearances for the Dutch title hopefuls, and Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Fares Chaibi, who has been a regular starter in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
And the Algerian second string might not face much resistance from Equatorial Guinea, who are heading for an early flight home after losses to Burkina Faso and Sudan.
Facing Algeria looks the toughest challenge of the lot for the Red Devils, who are set to suffer a third straight defeat.
