Former Notre Dame 5-star commit will enter the transfer portal

It’s always interesting to see what happens with former Notre Dame players and commits. On Tuesday, we learned one of its former five-star commits entered the transfer portal according to Hayes Fawcett.
Quarterback Deuce Knight looked like he was the next star Irish signal-caller, but he flipped and signed with Auburn. He played in two games, including one start against Mercer, and looked very good. Knight completed 17 of 25 passes for 259 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. He also ran 13 times for 178 yards and 4 touchdowns.
While the numbers were put up in limited duty, there is no doubting his talent. Knight will be a wanted man when the portal opens on Friday (Jan. 2). Don’t expect Notre Dame to recruit him again; it made the right choice with CJ Carr and the rest is history.
