Still Serving Pancakes At 2 A.M.: Waldorf Denny’s Not Shutting Down

WALDORF, Md. — A wave of Facebook posts circulating in local community groups earlier this month sparked concern that the Denny’s restaurant in Waldorf was preparing to close, with dozens of users speculating the longtime diner would shut its doors by the end of the year. But despite the online discussion, the restaurant remains open.
The Denny’s at 2975 Crain Highway is not closing, according to confirmation from the location’s general manager. The restaurant remains open and operating as usual.
The confusion appears to have stemmed from unverified posts on social media. One user claimed, “Apparently Denny’s in Waldorf MD is closing at the end of December.” Another joked, “Where are people going to go to contemplate questionable decisions at 2 a.m. while eating pancakes?”
Despite the online speculation, management confirmed to The BayNet that the Waldorf location is not part of any closure plans and there have been no operational changes.
Other Denny’s locations across the country have closed in recent months. Additional closures have occurred in states such as California, Oregon, and South Carolina, often attributed to franchise restructuring, lease expirations, or performance evaluations.
Stop by the Waldorf Denny’s, enjoy a good meal, and make some new memories — they’re open and serving the community every day.
