New Year’s Eve fireworks displays in Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Several locations across the state will welcome the new year with professional fireworks displays.
OAHU
- Waikiki hosts its New Year’s Eve celebration at midnight on the beach.
- Sky Waikiki’s New Year’s Eve countdown party starts at 8 p.m
- Wai Kai is hosting a party from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.
- Ko Olina Resort is hosting a midnight fireworks show.
In Waikiki, people began gathering near the Hilton Hawaiian Village to see the fireworks show.
They said they came early to avoid traffic, get good parking, and a spot to ring in the new year.
“I’m just gonna stay with my family and watch the fireworks over here in Waikiki,” said Antonio Mattone.
MAUI
- The Grand Wailea is hosting a midnight fireworks show.
- The Four Seasons Resort Lanai will host a midnight fireworks show.
HAWAII ISLAND
- The Hilton Waikoloa Village fireworks show begins at 9 p.m.
KAUAI
Officials will not be hosting any fireworks displays.
Kauai police continue to encourage the public to enjoy permitted displays and leave fireworks to trained professionals.
