BUDGET supermarket Lidl has revealed the opening hours for all of its branches across the UK over the New Year.
So here’s everything you need to know if you need some bottles of bubbly or flavoursome favourites to help ring in 2026.

When is Lidl open over New Year’s?
Lidl, which operates around a thousand branches up and down the nation, has set out its New Year schedule so you can plan accordingly.
The supermarket chain has confirmed its UK locations will be doing business on New Year’s Eve, but with slightly reduced hours, typically opening at 8am and closing between 6pm and 7pm.
On New Year’s Day, the majority of Lidl supermarkets will be closed for the duration.
However, there are exceptions, and it is advisable to check exact local times via the Lidl Plus app, which is free to download, or by using the store finder on the Lidl website.

These handy tools show up-to-date opening and closing times, helping customers avoid wasted journeys during the busy holiday period.
Lidl said: “All stores outside the M25 will be closed on New Year’s Day.
“We’d also encourage customers to check their local store’s opening hours on the online store finder or through the Lidl Plus app.”
It added: “Customers can use Lidl Plus to find the best time to shop at their local store (based on average visits), helping avoid peak times.
“Typically, the busiest times in store are around lunchtime, with the highest levels of footfall being recorded between 12pm and 2pm.
“Those who want to miss the midday rush should instead opt to shop between 8am and 10am, or 6pm onwards, which Lidl data showed to be the quietest times in store (based on 2022 till roll at Lidl GB).”
