The Rose Bowl, of course, will feature perhaps the biggest storylines of the CFP in the top-ranked Hoosiers and 9-seeded Crimson Tide. Curt Cignetti has Indiana in uncharted waters with his recent success and is looking to cap a season as the only remaining undefeated team in college football.
Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide, of course, were controversial entrants into the playoff after getting shellacked 28-7 in the SEC championship game. Alabama also had to come back from a 17-0 deficit vs. No. 8 Oklahoma in the first round to defeat the Sooners 34-24 and advance to the quarterfinal round of the playoff.

Where is ‘College GameDay’ location for CFP quarterfinals?

“College GameDay” will preview the Jan. 1 schedule of games from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. There, the top-seeded Hoosiers will take on No. 9 seed Alabama for a chance to advance to the CFP Peach Bowl semifinal in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
It is the third time this season Alabama will be one of the featured “GameDay” teams, and the second time for Indiana. Alabama is 1-1 in its previous appearances in 2025, while Indiana is 1-0.

“GameDay” will begin at 9 a.m. ET from the Rose Bowl. It remains to be seen where the preview show will head after the quarterfinal round, though it’s feasible it attends both the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 8 and Peach Bowl on Jan. 9. The show already did something similar in the first round of the CFP when it attended the Alabama-Oklahoma game in Norman, Oklahoma before moving to College Station, Texas for the first-round game between No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 10 Miami.
