After seemingly being penciled in for rotation minutes tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder with Steph Curry (ankle), Jimmy Butler (illness), and Draymond Green (rest) all ruled out, Jonathan Kuminga has now suddenly been downgraded due to “lower back soreness.”
Kuminga did not see minutes in nine out of the Warriors’ last 10 games. The last game he played was against the Phoenix Suns on December 18, during which he played a total of nine minutes and 31 seconds.
This was supposed to be an opportunity for Kuminga to increase his value for a potential trade down the line (he will be trade-eligible starting January 15. But with this recent development, Kuminga is set to warm the sidelines for the seventh-consecutive game.
