ROCHESTER, N.Y. — USA Hockey has announced the full roster for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and five Bishop Kearney alumnae of the selects hockey program are on the roster.
Haley Winn ’21
First is Rochester native Haley Winn, who was named as a defender for the Team USA women’s roster. Winn has played in three International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championships, helping Team USA to secure gold in 2023 and 2025 and silver in 2024.
News10NBC spoke with Winn ahead of the 2023 championship, where she played alongside a Fairport native, Natalie Buchbinder. She also played on the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team twice, which won gold in 2020 and silver the year before.
In college, Winn played hockey for Clarkson University. She went to play professionally for the Boston Fleet. She is making her Olympic debut.
Caroline Harvey
Caroline Harvey was also named as a defender. Harvey played for Bishop Kearney in 2018-19 and 2019-20 and won a pair of state titles with the U-19 selects team. She also played for Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Laila Edwards ’22
Laila Edwards, a forward, scored 147 goals and 266 assists in 287 games at Bishop Kearney from 2018-22. In 2022, Edwards was named MVP at the IIHF U-18 Women’s World Championship, leading the U.S. to silver.
Kirsten Simms
Kirsten Simms, forward, served as an alternative captain for the 2022 IIHF U-18 Women’s World Championship U.S. Simms also competed at the 2020 U-18 Women’s World Championship, winning gold and adding two assists. She also led the team to gold at the 2022 USA Hockey National Championship.
Ava McNaughton ’23
Ava McNaughton, goalie, also represented the U.S. at the 2022 IIHF U-18 Women’s World Championship, starting out in a 5-0 win for Team USA against Finland.
Harvey, Edwards, Simms, and McNaughton all currently play at the University of Wisconsin.
