Pink hospitalized on New Year’s Eve: ‘Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport’

A hit singer is assuring fans she’s OK after spending New Year’s Eve in the hospital.
Pink, the Grammy-winning pop star behind songs like “So What” and “Raise Your Glass,” shared a photo of herself Wednesday after being hospitalized for a medical procedure. She said she had two discs in her neck replaced.
“I end the year giving reverence to, paying attention to, and to fixing my body. It may not be a fancy Face lift, but I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck,” Pink wrote on Instagram. “A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all it’s worth. Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport.”
The 46-year-old singer born Alecia Beth Moore, who stylizes her name as P!nk, did not elaborate on what caused her injury. However, there are clear physical demands for her high-flying acrobatics and energetic performances at concerts like 2024’s sold-out show at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse.
“I want to say Happy New Year’s to everyone. I am so happy to say goodbye to the snake year and welcome in the horse. I am leaving behind all of my hurt in 2025,” she continued. “This year was a doozy for all of us and it ran the spectrum from absolutely devastating to mildly annoying. In amongst all of that, there was so much beauty.”

Pink said that some of her favorite moments from 2025 included spending time with her family, including daughter Willow Sage and son Jameson Moon. She added that she plans to “choose joy” in 2026 and offered a message of support for her fans.
“I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made. I hope and pray every person can make that wish, have that choice. I know that isn’t a reality for some,” Pink wrote. “I will work this year to help preserve the choices of others to make for themselves and their families and this very pursuit of happiness. Let’s do better for ourselves and for others.”
This year will mark the 25th anniversary of Pink’s 2001 album, “Mizzundazstood,” featuring hits like “Get the Party Started,” “Just Like a Pill” and “Don’t Let Me Get Me.” She’s also known for her mix of pop, rock, R&B and dance music on songs like “Just Give Me a Reason” (feat. Nate Ruess), “What About Us,” “Who Knew,” “Trustfall,” “Stupid Girls,” “Try” and “Lady Marmalade” (with Christina Aguilera, Mya and Lil Kim), plus collaborations with artists like Eminem, Kenny Chesney, Khalid, Indigo Girls and City and Colour’s Dallas Green (as the folk duo You + Me).
Pink, a former gymnast, built a huge following with her acclaimed performances featuring aerial stunts (including singing while upside down), trampolines, dance numbers and bright on-stage visuals. Her upcoming tour dates include two concerts in April in Mexico.
“There isn’t another artist that does (what she does),” Pink’s tour manager, Syracuse native Nick Cua, told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard. “It’s an amazingly entertaining show and high energy. You’ll see some of the things that she does in her flying routine when she’s singing upside down, flying all over the place… No one matches that.”
