Five Cowboys ruled out vs. Giants

3:40 p.m. — On Thursday against the Commanders, Cowboys LB Logan Wilson did not record a single snap for the first time this season, even dating back to his time before the trade deadline with the Bengals. Why?
“That was unfortunate with Logan,” Cowboys COO/co-owner Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan Monday morning. “They didn’t have many snaps throughout the game, much less obviously in the first half. I will say it was, I wouldn’t call it a mistake, but some confusion in terms of how that rotation was supposed to go with [LBs coach Dave] Borgonzi. It certainly wasn’t the intent for him not to play a snap, but sometimes the game with not many snaps on one particular side of the ball, things can not go according to plan.”
Jones would go on to clarify that the confusion was on the part of Borgonzi and the defensive coaching staff, something that head coach Brian Schottenheimer reiterated later on in the day.
“The plan was to play Logan,” Schottenheimer said. “We only had 21 snaps in the first half. We kind of messed up rotation in the second half. It’s not the first time that’s happened, probably not the last time. We take that as a coaching staff.”
