Sky Sports pundit to withdraw from World Darts Championship coverage immediately

DARTS pundit Glen Durrant revealed he’ll be watching the World Championship from home after his shift at Ally Pally ended.

The three-time BDO champion has been calling the 2025/26 PDC Darts World Championship for Sky Sports.

But he stunned darts fans around the world on New Year’s Eve by revealing he won’t be calling the latter stages of the Ally Pally – although it was always part of the plan.

Durrant’s deal with the broadcaster for this year’s tournament only ran until December 31.

He wrote on X: “One more match to commentate tomorrow and then like you watching from Home (pub on Saturday) as a fan.

“It’s brilliant to still be involved in darts and I love my job.

“Happy New Year everyone.”

Scores of Durrant’s followers were left baffled by the news his tournament has come to a close.

One commented: “You should be doing the final.”

Another said: “Really enjoyed you on comms this year.”

And another said: “You’ve been a brilliant addition to multiple commentary teams, Glen.”

“Glad you took it up after stopping your playing career.”

Fan favourite Durant joined the PDC from the BDO in 2019 and went on to the win the Premier League Darts in 2020.

He’d turn his hand to punditry shortly after hanging up his darts in November 2022.
