The Heat made 9-114 from 20 overs after being sent in by the Sixers, but they could’ve been in an even worse position had Sixers captain Moises Henriques not withdrawn an appeal for a timed out wicket.

Matt Kuhnemann was not ready within 75 seconds of the previous wicket as his side collapsed in Coffs Harbour.

However Henriques could be heard saying “I withdraw” as his partner Hugh Weibgen asked for new gloves.

Earlier Jack Wildermuth smashed two towering sixes back-to-back with the second finishing up outside the ground in the third over off Jack Edwards.

However, Edwards bounced back to trap Lachlan Hearne LBW for one off five balls.

Wildermuth blasted two sixes and two fours in his 31 from 17 balls, before he was bowled through the gate with a peach from Sean Abbott.

Matt Renshaw made just 2 off 7 before he smashed the ball down Jordan Silk’s throat to give Hayden Kerr his first scalp of the night.

Max Bryant came and went for just 3 off 5 balls after he chipped one to mid-wicket to give Ben Dwarshuis his first wicket of the night.

Nathan McSweeney hit one four in his 11 off 12 balls, before he was caught behind to give Dwarshuis his second wicket of the over as the Heat lost 5 for 23 in a horror collapse.

Jimmy Peirson hit one four in his run a ball 10, before he was trapped LBW by a superb Sean Abbott yorker.

Xavier Bartlett could only manage 1 off 4 balls, before he chipped a ball back to Joel Davies for a caught and bowled.

“It’s been an absolute shocker from the Heat,” Mike Hussey said.

Matt Kuhnemann was out for a first ball duck after a superb delivery from Davies bowled him through the gate.

Hugh Weibgen hit one six in his 23 off 24 balls, before he was run-out by Ben Dwarshuis trying to pinch a second run.
