The driver of a vehicle that was allegedly caught going 233 km/h on Highway 407 is facing a number of a charges.
In a post on X, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the driver was stopped on the tolled highway near Hurontario Street in Mississauga at 11 p.m. on Jan. 2.
The driver, who was not identified, said they were “sorry” after they were stopped, according to police.
They were charged with dangerous driving, stunt driving, and speeding. Police seized the vehicle for two weeks and the driver was issued a 30-day licence suspension.

East of Toronto, the OPP also charged an allegedly impaired driver who they say was caught speeding at nearly 200 km/h on Highway 401.
It happened at approximately 1:15 a.m. Monday on the highway near Bennett Road in Clarington, Ont.
In a tweet, the OPP said the 31-year-old driver was clocked at 189 km/h while travelling westbound.
They said the driver provided a breath sample, which triggered an alert. The driver was served a seven-day licence suspension for alcohol. Their car was also impounded for stunt driving and the driver was issued a 30-day licence suspension.
