Driver killed, woman injured after shots fired from another car, Durham Police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) — Durham Police are investigating after a shooting left one person dead and another seriously injured Sunday night.
It happened about 9:05 p.m. in the 3500 block of Hillsborough Road. Police said a 2024 Chevy Malibu was heading west on Hillsborough Road when a second vehicle approached it on its right passenger side. Someone in that vehicle began shooting at the Malibu.
The driver of the Chevy lost control of the car, which eventually came to a stop in the parking lot of Wendy’s.
The driver was taken to a hospital, where he later died. A second passenger, a woman, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
No one else was hurt.

The names of the victims have not been released.
Police did not release any details about a suspect vehicle.
