Dance of the Elements Precon: Decklist & Spoilers

Do you enjoy a unique five-color Commander deck? Want to cast huge creatures, both early and late in the game? If so, you’re going to really enjoy Dance of the Elements precon.
Below you’ll find just about everything there is to know about this deck. There’s some details that weren’t revealed yet — but that’s coming a bit later today or tomorrow at the latest.
With that said, let’s first check what this deck is all about.
Play, Sacrifice, and Duplicate Elementals
This deck cares about a specific creature type — Elementals, as the deck’s name suggests. But not just some small Elementals, there are expensive ones with powerful effects.
There are ways to play them for cheap, but you will need to sacrifice them. To offset that loss you might be able to copy them as well.
As you can see, there’s a lot going on in this deck. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like a generic five-color deck, that can only be upgraded into good stuff pile. Instead, you’ll be chasing very specific synergies which will enable some epic turns.
If you’re in for remarkable plays, you’re likely going to enjoy this precon.
Dance of the Elements Decklist
While we don’t know the full decklist just yet, it’s coming really soon. One of the two Lorwyn Eclipsed Commander precons will be revealed today, January 5th. The second one is coming tomorrow.
You will be able to find it below right away, so make sure to check back soon.
Dance of the Elements Spoilers
The same goes for most spoilers. Why for most? Because a single card was already leaked ahead of schedule. No other than the face commander, a brand-new version of Ashling. Let’s take a look.
Ashling, the Limitless Review
- Ashling, the Limitless 2R
- Legendary Creature — Elemental Sorcerer
- Elemental spells you cast from your hand have evoke 4. (If you cast a spell for its evoke cost, it’s sacrificed when it enters.)
- Whenever you sacrifice a nontoken Elemental, create a token that’s a copy of it. The token gains haste until end of turn. At the beginning of your next end step, sacrifice it, unless you pay WUBRG.
- 2/3
Three mana for a 2/3 is okay, although nothing special. But who are we kidding? Commander players don’t care about stats anyway.
The first ability is already a potent one, as it gives Elementals in your hand evoke 4. This allows you to cast any Elemental from your hand for four mana. Sure, you need to sacrifice it when it enters, but there are ways to get around that. Not just with cards like Ephemerate, but with Ashling’s other ability.
That one triggers whenever you sacrifice a nontoken Elemental, and it gives you a token copy of that same creature. It gains haste, but you’ll have to sacrifice on your end step — unless you pay one mana of every color. (This effect makes Ashling a 5-color commander.)
Ashling, the Limitless seems like a really strong commander. It gives you access to all colors, so there are a ton of directions in which you can take the deck.
Of course, you’ll want expensive Elementals, and there’s no shortage of these, with cards like Titan of Industry, Havoc Eater, and Rumbleweed.
But beyond that, you can pick your own adventure. Will you go for token doubling with Anointed Procession? Perhaps you want to blink Elementals before they are sacrificed? Maybe you’ll reduce the evoke’s cost even further with Heartless Summoning. You could also lean into die-triggers with Elementals like Cavalier of Flame.
So if you’re an avid deckbuilder or if you simply like unique decks with powerful combos, Ashling seems like a perfect commander to build around.
Conclusion
So, that’s it about Dance of the Elements precon. Make sure to check back soon, to find the full deck.
One thing worth mentioning is that this deck is (as of writing of this article) available with a discount on Amazon. If you plan on purchasing it anyway, now might be a great time to do so. This way you’ll avoid any potential price increases, which sometimes occur.
For comparison. the decks MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) is $50.
