Rain, snow possible in parts of Arizona later this week

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Seasonal weather will be in the forecast through Wednesday across the Valley, with high temperatures in the upper 60s.
Two weather systems, one coming from off the coast of southern California, the other from the Pacific Northwest, are going to be in close proximity to each other on Thursday. That’s going to bring a slight chance for rain in the Valley, but a better chance for some snow in northern Arizona in the mountains.
The snow level will be around 6,000 feet for this storm, and it looks like places like Flagstaff could see one to three inches of snow. However, while we’re pretty confident it will snow in Flagstaff, our confidence level is only moderate for the amounts.
Stay tuned for First Alert updates. We expect some portions of Arizona to get a Winter Weather Advisory later this week.
We love end-of-year stats, and we finally have most of Arizona reporting. As we told you last week, 2025 was the second warmest on record for Phoenix.
Turns out, it was also the second warmest on record for Flagstaff, St. Johns and Tucson. Show Low also had its warmest year on record.
And one final note, Tucson has now had 27 consecutive years with above-average temperatures. Yes, climate change has a firm hold on Arizona.
