2 suspects caught in the act during Irvine luxury handbag burglary, police say

IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) — Police say two suspects were caught in the act during a burglary at a luxury handbag store in Irvine.
Early Monday morning, surveillance cameras spotted them inside the store near Jamboree Road and Dupont Drive. The building security called Irvine police.
Officers moved in, found the suspects hiding and arrested them. Irvine police said the Costa Mesa Police Department provided support with their drone.
About $100,000 worth of designer handbags were recovered and returned to the store.
Irvine police identified the suspects as Richard Bernard Spencer, 40, of Los Angeles, and Marcellus Ronell Shelby, 30, of Hollywood.
Both suspects now face multiple felony charges, including burglary, grand theft, conspiracy, vandalism and resisting arrest. They were booked into the Orange County Jail.
