Ohio State football is adding a transfer wide receiver to its 2026 roster

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football landed a commitment from transfer wide receiver Devin McCuin on Wednesday.

He spent the previous three seasons at UTSA where he collected 152 receptions for 1,696 yards and 16 touchdowns.

McCuin — a native of Jacksonville, Texas — was a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class who signed with the Roadrunners.

As a freshman, he appeared in 12 games with seven starts, collecting 42 receptions for 546 yards and three touchdowns. He followed that up with 45 receptions for 424 yards as a sophomore in 2024.

McCuin is coming to Ohio State off his best campaign. He caught 65 passes for 726 yards and eight touchdowns this season en route to third-team All-American Conference honors.

McCuin is the first receiver to ever join Ohio State out of the portal.

While Brian Hartline was coaching the position for the Buckeyes, they often recruited and developed high-level talent without tapping into the portal.

However, Hartline was hired as South Florida’s head coach last month. Since then, Ohio State has lost four receivers (Bryson Rodgers, Mylan Graham, Quincy Porter and Damarion Witten) to the portal. Standout receiver Carnell Tate also declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
