1 killed after car drives through barrier onto I-55 in Romeoville, Illinois State Police says

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (WLS) — A deadly crash has shut down traffic on I-55 in the southwest suburbs Thursday morning, Romeoville police said.
The crash occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on Route 126 near Mile Marker 260.

Romeoville police said a speeding vehicle on a frontage road hit a curve and went airborne, crashing through a barrier wall and onto on I-55.
Romeoville police said one person was killed after a car drove through a barrier onto I-55 Thursday morning.
Another vehicle then crashed into the speeding vehicle, police said. The driver of the vehicle that crashed through the wall died at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Chopper7 flew above the scene with a hole in the barrier wall. Illinois State Police said at least two other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Romeoville police said at least one person was killed after a car drove through a barrier on I-55, closing northbound lanes of traffic.
All northbound lanes of traffic are shut down between U.S. 30 and Rte. 126. Shortly after 6:30 a.m., police opened up one lane of traffic.
