This Morning icon Josie Gibson lost five stone after she was left “devastated” while filming her TV show.
The TV presenter has left fans in awe with her stunning new figure after losing an impressive five stone following years of fluctuating weight. The 40-year-old TV presenter is looking better than ever and Josie confessed she was left completely gutted after realising she couldn’t fit into one of her costumes while filming a new TV show.
Josie has been open about her weight struggles in the past, having gone from a size 20 to a size eight back in 2014. At that time, she released two workout DVDs, 30 Second Slim and Josie Gibson’s 21 Day Fat Burn, but unfortunately, the weight slowly returned.
After years of weight fluctuations and steadfastly refusing to resort to weight loss injections, it seems the ITV star has finally discovered the perfect formula for maintaining her shape. The secrets behind her fabulous physique have been unveiled in her new Channel 5 show, The 1970s Diet: Could It Work for You?, reports the Mirror.

Josie fully embraced the 1970s diet, which involved eating, drinking and exercising as they did in the decade to see if these retro trends were any good. In the two-part series, airing this Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm, Bristol-born Josie follows an authentic meal plan from the 70s provided by a nutritionist.
Gibson chowed down on smaller portions of boiled potatoes, liver, and spam. She revealed: “‘If I’m taking on this experiment, then I’m showing it all, that’s the experiment. If you don’t show the experiment, what’s the point?”

She told The Mirror: “It was nice to know that even though I was overweight, I was at a supreme fitness level. I was expecting to have a low fitness level, even though I’ve always exercised, but he was like: ‘No, you’re at a superior fitness rate’.”
Josie also delves into the fashion and fitness crazes of the decade, complete with flares and bold patterns: “I think 1970s fashion was my favourite era. It’s so gorgeous. When I got down there, I picked up my sizes that I am and went to the changing rooms and I was absolutely devastated.”

“Taking on a full 1970s diet was no easy feat, this was a totally unique experience! The ’70s had some pretty wacky food trends, but what surprised me the most was how different our approach to eating, exercise and even shopping was back then. It was a fascinating journey, viewers are going to love it.”
