Jeff Hafley update: 3 teams want to interview Packers DC for head coach job

In addition to the Tennessee Titans, two other NFL teams have requested an interview with Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for open head coaching jobs. According to Albert Breer of MMQB.com, the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons also want to interview Hafley during this hiring cycle.

The request from the Titans was reported by multiple outlets early on Thursday morning.

As noted by Breer, Hafley cannot interview for a job until next week at the earliest. The Packers face the Chicago Bears in the NFC Wild Card Round on Saturday.

Hafley is a hot candidate in 2026 after leading the Packers defense to back-to-back successful seasons. He also has experience as an NFL positional coach (seven years coaching defensive backs) and college head coach (Four years at Boston College) and excellent communication skills with players and media.

The Cardinals job is open after Jonathan Gannon was fired, while the Falcons job is open after Raheem Morris — a close friend of Matt LaFleur — was fired. It’s possible Gannon and Morris could be candidates to replace Hafley as the Packers defensive coordinator if he is hired for a head coach job this cycle.

Other openings around the NFL include the New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns.
