Ronan Keating’s son Jack has revealed the Boyzone star’s major rule ahead of returning to Love Island for All Stars. The 26-year-old originally joined the show back in 2022, making his debut as a Casa Amor boy.
However, he only lasted five days on the show, failing to find a romantic spark with someone who could take him back to the main villa. Now, the radio presenter is heading to All Stars as an original contestant – and admits that his famous dad reacted well to the news this time.
“He was very happy. I actually didn’t tell him until I knew I was definitely going on because he lives abroad now so I don’t see him that much,” he told The Mirror and other press.

“He’s more excited now than he was the last time. I think he was s***ting himself a bit the first time because I had no experience with like media, TV, anything in the spotlight.”
Jack added that after spending the last few years pursuing a media career, his dad is more confident with him taking on the TV show. However, his mum – Ronan’s first wife Yvonne Connolly – wasn’t too sure.
“It’s kind of flipped. My mom was so excited for me the first time and my dad wasn’t, whereas this time my mum is like, ‘Are you sure? You’ve got a good thing going back home. Are you sure you want to put yourself back in the hot seat again?'”
As for his dad’s key advice, Jack said that the Life is a Rollercoaster singer has one rule for him. “Just no sex on TV. He said that to me last time and this time as well,” Jack laughed.
“He knows that I’m four years older, I am a dad now. He didn’t have to sit me down and be like, ‘Make sure you do this, don’t do that.’ He’s a lot more confident in me this time than he was last time.”
Will he follow the rules? “I’ll see,” he grinned. “I’ll try everything once. I’m not ruling everything else but I don’t know. We’ll see what situations arise. Maybe!”
Shortly after returning from Love Island the first time, Jack discovered that he was going to become a dad at the age of 23 after a fling with Keely Iqbal. He revealed that he’ll be factoring his two-year-old Maya into his approach to finding love on the show this time.
“In my first couple of relationships, I maybe introduced my daughter to people too soon so this time, I’m looking for someone very family-orientated and okay with the situation I’m in,” he said.
“I’m sure some girls will be turned off by the whole single dad thing and dealing with baby mamas, but it’s something on top of my list. I want somebody who wants to have kids as I do want to have more kids in the future, when I do get married down the line.”
Love Island: All Stars begins on Monday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
