If Chicago need a response, then Caleb Williams has proven in his second season he is the man to provide it.

His rookie year wasn’t ideal as Chicago fired
their head coach mid-season but unlike Matt Eberflus, his successor Ben Johnson
is an offensive coach.

Williams struggled to get used to Johnson and his tough-love
approach during training camp but the pair have developed an effective relationship
through the season.

Williams is looking after the ball better and, at times, Johnson
has challenged him to showcase his arm strength, such as his walk-off touchdown
pass to DJ Moore to beat Green Bay in overtime.

The former number one draft pick has set a franchise record of 3,942 passing yards, is
sixth in the league with 27 touchdowns and has thrown just seven interceptions,
although his completion rate is 58.1%, way down on the league leader Drake Maye
(72.0%).

Williams has also become known as ‘the Iceman’
for his ability to stay calm under pressure, leading the Bears to six game-winning
drives. He may need another tonight if they’re to get the better of Green
Bay.
