Milan’s Most Famous Modern Trattoria Pops Up at Roscioli for a Night

Milan’s famously hard-to-book trattoria is coming to New York for a one-night-only pop-up at Roscioli on Monday, February 2. Chef Diego Rossi’s Trippa, which has shaped Milan dining scene since 2015, has been fully booked most nights for years, due to limited seating and a sprint of a reservation system. It’s also due to Rossi’s cult-status for having applied Michelin-starred sensibility to a less-formal format, where he incorporates traditional ingredients in a Milanese style, like offal and regional pastas with in-season produce. Since Trippa’s first pop-up at Roscioli in 2024, Roscioli has even kept the chef’s vitello tonnato on the menu as a nod to the ongoing friendship between the kitchens. (Roscioli’s culinary director, Taylor Hester, recently spent a week in Milan cooking alongside the Trippa team.)

In New York, the $95-per-person dinner ($55 optional wine pairing) will feature a menu showcasing Trippa’s most iconic dishes alongside new ones developed exclusively for the event. That includes beef tartare with Sardo di Lago and Parmigiano, and tagliatelle with lamb ragu. Bookings open today, Friday, January 9, via DoorDash Reservations.
