Exclusive: Birmingham Complete Signing of Forward, Due at St Andrew’s in Next 24 Hours

Birmingham City have beefed up their attacking options by signing exciting winger Abdoulie Manneh.

The youngster was blooded last term but has come good this and is one of the most valuable prospects in the Swedish top division.

He can play on either flank but is more at home coming off the left where he has featured for his Swedish club.

Manneh Agrees Permanent Birmingham Deal

The 21-year-old Gambian international will arrive at St Andrew’s in the next 24 hours after agreeing a permanent deal from Swedish club Mjallby.

Manneh has struck seven goals so far this season in what is his breakthrough season in the Allsvenskan.

The youngster was blooded last term but has come good this and is one of the most valuable prospects in the Swedish top division.

He can play on either flank but is more at home coming off the left where he has featured for his Swedish club.

Manneh’s arrival will add pace to Chris Davies’s attacking options as Birmingham seek to give their play-off aspirations a push.

And his signing is likely to see Lewis Koumas sent back to Liverpool later this month.

Birmingham have been lacking genuine pace in forward areas and the youngster will be detailed with adding this.

He becomes the second addition during the transfer window, following on from the capture of Kai Wagner from Philadelphia Union last week.

The defender has started brightly at St Andrew’s, finding the net in the FA Cup victory over Cambridge United.

And Davies will welcome the permanent addition of Manneh to his ranks as he seeks to push Birmingham up the Championship table during the remainder of the campaign.
