Man Utd draw up manager shortlist

Manchester United have three international managers in mind as they look for a permanent replacement for Ruben Amorim.

England’s Thomas Tuchel, Carlo Ancelotti of Brazil, and the USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino are all in the frame.

The Mirror writes: “Manchester United have England boss Thomas Tuchel on a three-man shortlist for Ruben Amorim’s long-term successor. The Portuguese coach was sacked earlier this month after a poor year-and-a-half at the helm at Old Trafford.

“Mirror Football understands that there are currently three outstanding names on the shortlist to take over in the summer. England boss Tuchel is among those options and could potentially be offered the job depending on what happens during the Three Lions’ World Cup campaign.

“Another World Cup-bound manager that is also being eyed by the Red Devils is Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian is currently in charge of the Brazilian national team.

“He too has a contract that will run until the World Cup, albeit there have been talks to extend that initial deal. A final international option for United is current USA coach Mauricio Pochettino.”

Livramento linked with Arsenal switch

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, also wanted by Manchester City.

The 23-year-old will be in the last two years of his current deal, and has been valued at more than £60 million.

The Sun explains: “Arsenal are monitoring Newcastle’s Tino Livramento ahead of a summer move.

“The Newcastle full-back, 23, is set to be at the centre of a battle between the Gunners and Manchester City at the end of the season.

“Livramento is considered one of the top Toon assets by boss Eddie Howe meaning he will not want to lose the defender on the cheap.

“An asking price of more than £60 million was touted last year – though the former Southampton man will only have two years left on his deal come the end of the season.”

Man Utd forward set to leave for Mexico

Manchester United’s 27-year-old attacker Geyse is close to joining Mexican side Club America, according to The Athletic.

Meanwhile, United hope to land Hammarby’s Swedish forward Ellen Wangerheim this January.

The website reports: “Manchester United forward Geyse is set to join Mexican side Club America on a permanent deal.

“United are also working on closing a deal for Sweden striker Ellen Wangerheim from Hammarby.

“Geyse, 27, spent the 2025 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season on loan with Gotham FC and was part of the championship-winning squad. Among her 17 matches played, she registered two goals and two assists.”

Villa keen on Gallagher

Aston Villa are interested in Conor Gallgher of Atletico Madrid, but may struggle to tempt the Spanish side into an initial loan.

Unai Emery’s men might also find it tough to afford another target, Newcastle forward William Osula.

The Daily Mail states: “Aston Villa are exploring a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher.

“Unai Emery would like an energetic midfielder who can play the number eight role and is a fan of Gallagher from his time at Chelsea.

“Harvey Elliott’s loan from Liverpool has not worked and the manager has made it clear they won’t give him the necessary starts to trigger his buy option.

“Much will depend on the financial restrictions Villa are working under but it is understood Atletico would consider offers of around £35 million.

“Villa admire Newcastle striker William Osula but that would also require a substantial fee.”
