Rangers have reportedly held talks with Wolfsburg over bringing in Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen this month.
The 26-year-old has struggled for regular game time with the Bundesliga side this season. He was absent from the Wolfsburg squad that were hammered 8-1 by Bayern Munich on Sunday as he looks to find a new club this month.
Sky Germany now report that Rangers have “opened” dissuasions with the club over the wide man with the player “ready for his next chapter.” He has a contract at the club until 2029.
Skov Olsen was previously on the Ibrox agenda during his time at Bologna in 2022 while Gio van Bronckhorst was in the dugout. However, at that stage he would opt to join Club Brugge from the Serie A side.
He would end his time in Belgium last summer as he opted to join Wolfsburg – but with the German side struggling at the wrong end of the table a quick-fire exit is on the cards for the 40-time Denmark cap.
The move has already been endorsed by Ibrox icon Brian Laudrup. During the previously chatter about Skov Olsen, he insisted the forward was the perfect player for the Glasgow giants.

Back in 2022 he said: “I’ve been excited to see Rangers linked with Andreas Skov Olsen at Bologna. He’s been fantastic for Denmark recently. It hasn’t worked for him so far in Serie A, with talk he could even be allowed to leave on loan, but I know from my own career that Italy can be a difficult place at times.
“More or less every time he plays, the fans are out of their seats, thinking: ‘Something’s going to happen now’. If you are looking for a hug the line player, a real creative force, then Skov Olsen ticks the boxes.
“I’d see Rangers as a very good option for him if an opportunity was to arise. He’s a crowd pleaser. But an effective one, too. He’s not a type you see that often. Even on a short-term deal, he’d be able to do something and deliver for the team if played in the right areas.”
