PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The Mummers string bands are gearing up for competition.
The 2026 String Band Spectacular, the official judged competition event of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, is coming to Lincoln Financial Field.
The Philadelphia String Band Association made the announcement on Sunday.
The event will take place on Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m.
This competition comes following the postponement of the String Band Association competition on New Years Day, due to weather concerns that damaged and destroyed some of the props used in some of the string band performances.
Organizers said several people were injured by the flying props on New Years Day, and one person was hospitalized after being struck in the head by a nail.
Although the competition was delayed, the bands still performed their routines that they had spent all year rehearsing.
