Three cold fronts with three times the chill

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Three separate cold fronts will push through Florida over the next seven days, bringing cooler air and a chance of rain. The first front arrives today. While a few showers are possible, most of the Suncoast will stay dry.

Highs Today(Highs Today)

Monday morning will feel dramatically different with crisp and cool air, with no chance for fog! Lows will dip into the 40s and 50s. Tuesday and Wednesday will stay cloudy and cool. Then the strongest front arrives on Wednesday night. Scattered showers and a small chance of thunderstorms develop Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Skies are clearing on Thursday afternoon.

Highs Friday(Highs Friday)

This is when it gets cold. Friday morning lows will drop into the 30s and 40s. Thursday and Friday highs will be stuck in the 60s. Cold front number Three moves into the Suncoast next weekend, but there is very little moisture with this last front.

Tennis, Pickleball, and Golf courts and courses change today. Windy conditions will develop Sunday afternoon as our next cold front drops south across Florida. An isolated shower is possible, too.

Beach conditions change Sunday with our cold front moving through the Suncoast. Winds are North and Northwest at 5 to 10 mph in the morning. By Sunday afternoon, winds pick up out of the North and Northwest at 15 to 20 mph, gusting to 25 mph. Rip current risk is High in the afternoon and for Monday morning. An isolated shower is possible with the cold front. Next week will be cooler with another chance of showers mid-week.

Boating conditions also deteriorate today. Small Craft Advisories go into effect as winds increase. With Sunday’s cold front, Northwest winds start at 5 to 10 knots, increasing to Northwest winds near 20 knots and gusting to 25 knots. Choppy conditions will develop and hold through Monday. Waves on Sunday afternoon will run 2 to 4 feet and occasionally 5 feet on Sunday.
