Report: Ontario’s Bodpegn Miller, of Ohio State, enters transfer portal

ONTARIO — Ohio State freshman receiver and Ontario product Bodpegn Miller will enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

A four-star prospect, Miller graduated from Ontario in December of 2025 so he could early-enroll at OSU. He went through spring practice with the Buckeyes but didn’t see any game action this season.

Miller was recruited as a receiver by recently-departed offensive coordinator and new University of South Florida head coach Brian Hartline despite never playing the position in high school.

Miller was the quarterback at Ontario, where he led the Warriors to a regional runner-up finish in 2024.

The 6-foot-3, 196-pound Miller will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Messages left for Miller were not returned Friday evening at the time of publication.

The Buckeyes, like all other Division I college football programs, have a roster in turmoil as players jockey for Name, Image and Likeness deals that have turned the sport into a free-for-all over the past couple of seasons.

Miller’s name in the transfer portal is far from unusual.

According to a Jan. 7 report by CBS Sports, more than 3,350 players — roughly 25% of the Football Bowl Subdivision — are in the transfer portal.

Some see this as a chaotic sequence, with the sport now operating amid unregulated free agency with no calendar, no enforcement and no leadership.

According to CBS Sports, the transfer portal is “amateur” free agency without guardrails disguised under the veil of the House v. NCAA antitrust settlement that was supposed to — legally — provide players with their rightful piece of a multi-billon dollar operation.
