Line Combinations: Stars at Kings

The Dallas Stars will look to end their eight-game losing streak Monday night as they continue the fourth stop of a six-game road trip. They face the Los Angeles Kings, who are returning home after their own road trip and have been trying to get back on track. Over their last 25 games, the Kings are 9-10-6 but have shown signs of improvement, winning three of their last five contests.
This will be the third meeting of the season between these Western Conference rivals. Each team has already claimed a win, with the Kings earning a 3-2 overtime victory in Dallas before the Stars evened the season series with a 4-1 win in mid-December. Historically, the two clubs have split their last six meetings, each winning three, making Monday’s matchup a pivotal contest.

Dallas will get back captain Jamie Benn, who is expected to provide a boost for a team struggling defensively. During the current skid, the Stars have allowed 31 goals, including seven games in which they gave up four or more. The Kings, typically a defensively minded team, have also had their troubles, allowing an average of 3.31 goals per game over their last 13 contests. Both teams will look to tighten up defensively while trying to regain momentum.
