Man hurt following fight, fall at TD Garden during Boston Bruins game

One man was arrested and another ended up in the hospital after a fight and fall at TD Garden during a Boston Bruins game Saturday.

It happened in the balcony just after 3 p.m. in between the second and third periods as the Bruins faced off against the New York Rangers. A witness told Boston police the two men were “heckling each other back and forth,” according to a police report.

Another witness said one man was “intoxicated and agitating” the other man, who was wearing a Rangers jersey, and that man’s “wife/girlfriend.”

The drunk man allegedly “put his middle finger directly” in the woman’s face.

The Rangers fan then allegedly grabbed the drunk man by the neck, according to a witness, and pushed him down the stairs. The man fell down below to loge section 2, according to police.

A fan sitting in section 113 row A later called Boston police and told them the drunk man fell on him and left him with neck pain.

The drunk man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with a head injury. His name and condition have not been released, but his injury was described by police as “non-life-threatening.”

On the way to Mass General, the man told a police officer he had been drinking, but “had no memory of this incident and did not know why he was going to the hospital,” the police report stated.

Witnesses said the Rangers fan and his wife/girlfriend left the Garden moments after the incident.

Police later tracked him down and identified him as 48-year-old Aaron Tucker of Vermont. He’s charged with assault and battery.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.

The Bruins blew out the Rangers, 10-to-2.
